Before traveling to Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley of the Incas is the ideal spot to see Andean culture at its finest. The stunning scenery, archeological monuments, and locals make this day ideal. This excursion, which will include Chinchero, Moray, the Maras salt mines, and Ollantaytambo, will be the ideal prelude to the world’s wonders.
During your two-hour guided tour of Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu on the second day, you will have the opportunity to watch the dawn and then have the opportunity to ascend the Huayna Picchu mountain.
Day 01: Chinchero – Moray – Maras Salineras – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
Day 02: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
At seven in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and head off to see a portion of the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas. This tour will be remembered because of the stunning scenery, the locals, the artisan shops, and the amazing archeological sites.
You will first reach the Chinchero archeological complex, which is 3800 meters above sea level and features stunning views of Cusco’s high Andean region.Additionally, you will visit handicraft shops to learn more about the natural dyeing of wool using local flora and insects.
After passing through the charming village of Maras, we will proceed to Moray Place, which the Incas used as a center for agricultural experimentation. From there, we will go to Las Salineras, where there are over 4,000 salt ponds that are still being extracted by the locals in an artisanal manner. After that, we’ll keep going along the revered Wilcamayu River until we reach Urubamba, where you may eat lunch at your leisure. After that, we’ll go on to Ollantaytambo, another archeological site, which is one of the few locations in Cusco and Peru where people still live in Inca-built homes.
We conclude the trip here at around 15:00, after which we have free time to stroll around the citadel. The religious portion is situated in the upper portion of the mountain, where the temple of the sun continues to reflect its grandeur. At 16:00, we must proceed to the train station, which is the busiest location, to board our train to Machupicchu town, which takes one and a half hours. The name of your lodging will be displayed at the station’s entrance when we arrive. Once we reach the hotel, we will meet with the Machupicchu guide to arrange our tour the following day.

On the morning of the second day of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu trip, we head to the bus stop to board a bus that will transport us to the Machu Picchu archeological site (the tour starts at the passenger’s preference).
The first bus leaves at 5:30 am and the trip takes 25 minutes. Our guide will accompany us into the archeological center once we reach the entrance. For around two and a half hours, he will lead you through the park’s most significant locations and provide you with invaluable information that you will adore. You will have some free time once he gives you some time to snap shots. The option to trek to the mountains of Machupicchu Mountain Trekking (3 hours and a half) and Waynapicchu Trekking (2 hours and a half) is also included in this tour. If you would want to do so, please verify availability, since these excursions require additional funding.
After the free time, we must go again to Aguas Calientes by bus; there is no set schedule, buses run every five to ten minutes, where we will have free time to relax. We next have to arrive at the train station. Our train departs at 14:30. we may request other times at an additional cost, and we must get at the train station at least one hour early. This train will take us to Ollantaytambo one hour and a half of travel time, from whence we will be picked up and transported by bus to Cusco, one hour and a half of travel time, arriving in Cusco at 18:30.
