    ITINERARY

    Itinerary Luxury Inca Trail

    Day 01: Cusco – Km 82 – Wayllabamba

Around five in the morning, we will pick you up from your Cusco City hotel and drive you to Kilometer 82, where the Luxury Inca Trail to Machu Picchu trip starts, in a private van. The pickup will take place two hours later if you want to remain in the Sacred Valley, such as Ollantaytambo or Urubamba. We will do some last-minute shopping and have breakfast at a neighborhood restaurant in Ollantaytambo, which has stunning views of the Inca Town.

After that, we’ll keep going for thirty minutes to reach the checkpoint at kilometer 82. A comparatively simple 4-hour trek to lunch near the Inca Site of Llactapata will be the first leg of the famous Luxury Machu Picchu Trek, which begins right here. A top-notch group of chefs will prepare delicious meals utilizing locally sourced, fresh ingredients as part of our Inca Trail Luxury service. You’ll also like cold beverages like soda or beer.

Following lunch, you will hike for two more hours to the village of Wayllabamba, where we will spend the night, near the Cusichaca River. You will have access to massage therapists, hot showers, wine or Pisco Sour, and opulent camping gear, such as cozy walk-in tents.

After being picked up, it will take two hours to drive to Ollantaytambo, a historic town renowned for its Inca ruins and distinct charm. To prepare for the day’s journey, you may have a delectable breakfast here. Before you begin your journey, you may take in the grandeur of Ollantaytambo and have a taste of the native cuisine during breakfast.

    Day 02: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo

Get up and shine! You will begin the day with a hot beverage in your tent and get ready for the most difficult portion of the course. The journey starts with a strenuous 4-hour trek through the dense cloud forest to Llulluchapampa (3,762 m / 12,338 ft) following a chic breakfast prepared by our chef. A delicious meal will be waiting for you here to fuel yourself for the climb. You will go through many microclimates in this first portion, giving you the opportunity to take in the breathtaking vistas of the mountains covered with native vegetation, such as the Polylepis or Q’ueuña trees.

You will go on to Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass), the trail’s highest point at 4,215 m (13,828 ft), after lunch. It will be a wonderful chance to take in the scenery and take some time to relax. You will next descend for an additional two hours to the second campground at Pacaymayo Alto, which is 3,600 meters (11,482 feet) above sea level. Your opulent tents will be prepared when you arrive; have a shower, get a massage, eat dinner, and go to bed early to rest for the following day.

    Day 03: Pacaymayo – Runkuraqay – Phuyupatamarca

A stunning panorama of the Andes, the Urubamba Valley, and the waterfalls next to the campground awaits you when you awaken on the third day. After breakfast, you will begin your two-hour climb to the second-highest pass on the Inca Trail, Runkuraqay Pass, which is 3,955 meters (12,975 feet) above sea level. The round remains of Runkuraqay, a little lake, and breathtaking mountain vistas can all be seen along the route.

It takes two hours to descend from the mountain to the Sayacmarca Inca Site, a well-known archeological site in the cloud forest region. After lunch at a nearby campground, it takes two more hours to reach the last campsite, Phuyupatamarca, also known as the «City in the clouds,» at 3,680 meters (12,073 feet).

With views of the highest snow-capped peaks, including Salkantay Mountain, Pumasillo, and Veronica, as well as a distant vista of Machu Picchu Mountain, this last campsite is possibly the most picturesque on the Inca Trail Trek. Once everything is set up in your tent, you may visit the higher places for the most breathtaking sunsets; the views of the cloud forest and Vilcabamba’s mountain range are breathtaking!

Day 04: Phuyupatamarca – Machu Picchu – Cusco

This day is about getting up at five in the morning and sipping coffee while watching the sunrise. You will say goodbye to the amazing staff of chefs, porters, and masseuses after the final meal and begin down more than 3,000 steps that were constructed 500 years ago. The majority of today’s journey is downhill and explores the ruins of Phuyupatamarca, Intipata, and Wiñaywayna at quiet, secluded moments.

You will get your first look at the fabled Inca city when you get to the Sun Gate at approximately ten in the morning. After an hour of hiking, you will reach Machu Picchu, where you will eat lunch at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge and spend the afternoon in the Citadel.

You may see Machu Picchu with less people and enjoy breathtaking vistas if you explore it after lunch. Following the trip, you will descend to Aguas Calientes, spend some time exploring, and then travel to Ollantaytambo on the upscale Vistadome Observatory train before returning to Cusco on a private vehicle. It will be around 8:30 p.m. when you arrive at your Cusco hotel.
